Here's a new tag that is actually pretty simple to do.
Open your pictures folder
Go to the SIXTH folder
Go to the SIXTH picture
Publish it to a NEW POST and tell the story of the photo

This tag came from Isaac's friend Hutson's blog (actually, my friend and his mom, Callie, sent it!) - it was a little complicated because all our pictures are in iPhoto, so there aren't any "folders," but this was the closest thing (I just kinda made up my own system).

STORY: We bought Isaac a new Monkey towel, and this picture was taken after bathtime the first time we used the towel. Dad had given Isaac the bath, and then brought him downstairs to show Mom the "cuteness" (those were Dad's exact words). He actually didn't like the towel much - this pic was taken in between protestations!

"Carson-Newman, How I Love Thee..."

This weekend was Carson-Newman's Homecoming, so we trekked up to Virginia for a night, and then on to Jefferson City, TN, for the festivities and football game.

The new football stadium is very nice, and we sat with the Barkers (thanks, Stacie, for taking most of these pictures!)

Every time Carson-Newman did something good, Isaac stood up on Dad's lap and started bouncing and looking toward the endzone - we finally figured out that he was looking at the cheerleaders! Dad was so proud...


It started to get really cold, and Carson-Newman was up 42-7 at half-time, so we decided take one last picture and head back home. It was short trip, but worth it.

A visit to Grandma's house, Oct 17-18

We went to Isaac's Grandma's house in Virginia on Friday, before going on to Carson-Newman (Dad's alma mater) for Homecoming. We were only there for about 16 hours, but it was great to see MamMaw Mac, Grandma, and the Barkers!

Aunt Marie (Barker) taught Isaac a new dance (see the video on the next post) - it was quite entertaining!

Aunt Marie (Barker) taught him a new dance - they point their fingers in the air and then "get down"! It was oh-so-hilarious (be sure to push play to watch the video below).

New cousin!

Isaac has a new cousin: Micah Levi Hill was born on Thursday, October 16 at 1:30am - congrats to Aunt Julia, Uncle Trevor and Cousin Tirzah! Check out pictures at their blog (click the link at the bottom left of this blog called "Cousins Tirzah and Micah"), and prepare yourself for some cuteness!

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday, we went to Iseley Farm to pick out some pumpkins - Isaac really seemed to enjoy seeing the beautiful fall colors. It's so fun to watch him learn about the world and have new experiences!

Obama/Biden speech in Greensboro

Senators Obama and Biden were in Greensboro on Saturday, Sept 27, so we went to see them. There was so much energy, though Isaac seemed oblivious to it (he slept through most of it!)

A very historical picture: we are standing in line to hear a speech by the first African American presidential candidate in front of the Greensboro Woolworth store where the first student sit-in occurred in 1960.

We were very impressed by the fact that we were at an event where there were snipers on all the roofs.

We got to be really close to the stage because we had a baby in a stroller! This was our vantage point during the speech - notice the snipers on the roof across the street...

Garin took this picture of Obama after the speech, shaking hands and kissing babies! (okay, not really kissing babies, but doing the politician thing, anyway!)

Joe Biden came around the barricade, shook our hands, and patted Isaac on the head! Everyone started pushing forward, and Biden's secret service guy yelled, "Hey, quit pushing - there's a baby up here!" So, Isaac got a shout out from Biden's secret service!

Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

This weekend, Mom and Dad went to Atlanta to see the Braves, and Grandma and Grandpa came to visit. Here are some pics from their fun weekend, sans parents!

Kindermusik

This is Kindermusik - and the background to this picture is that Isaac had been wandering all over the room, until he saw that the other children were sitting on a very interesting clown blanket. So, he promptly chased away one little girl (the one on the right, in her grandma's arms), and then began to study the very interesting clown blanket, while Mom desperately tries to interest him in the book that Ms. Meredith is reading. Classic.

Isaac is walking so well now, and he's learned to say "up" when he wants to be picked up (and if not picked up right away, he gets a bit cranky, as seen at the end of this video!)

We went to Assateague Island, MD, to visit Aunt Julia, Uncle Trevor, and Tirzah - he had such fun at the beach! (There are several pictures, and the last one is a video.)

Isaac's dad and Cam's mom have birthdays very close to each other, so we celebrated together at Fuddruckers.

Isaac kept trying to help Cam "escape" by pushing the button on his stroller...

Charlie

Charlie is Isaac's bedtime bear, and he joined us on our trips this summer - what a life-saver!!

Family vacation in Williamsburg, VA - Aug 7-12

We went with Uncle Trevor, Aunt Julia, cousin Tirzah and Grandma to Williamsburg, VA, for an extended weekend (we missed you, Grandpa!) We stayed in a cottage and visited the tourist spots - the Virginia Zoo, Colonial Williamsburg, and, of course, spent time at the pool (what vacation would be complete without it!?)

Just like at Christmas, the kiddos cuddled up to whichever grown-up was available...

These two are thick as thieves - we are going to have to keep an eye on them!
