Christmas Day started at Grammie's, and then we went to MamMa and PapPa Parish's house for more festivities.

More trains - Northpark Mall, Dallas, Dec 22

Isaac's Christmas theme this year was "Trains, trains, trains"! He got a train set, and we visited the trains at the Gaylord Texan, as well as at Northpark Mall in Dallas. The set at Northpark was crazy amazing - they had some serious-business models: downtown Dallas, San Francisco, the White House, and Times Square, to name just a few. Isaac enjoyed it, though he was pretty zonked by the end of it (after a long day!)

Gaylord Texan - Dec 21, 2008

The Gaylord Texan is a HUGE hotel/convention center in Grapevine (actually 1 square mile of indoor space!), and they go all out for Christmas. Isaac was especially into the miniature trains and the fish (koi) at the "Riverwalk Cafe."

We took some time out of our busy Christmas celebrations to do a little dancin'...

"Timeless Christmas" at Woods Chapel Baptist Church

The little church at the end of Grammie's street had a Christmas carnival-type thing, with a petting zoo, pony rides, campfire to roast marshmallows (we skipped that one), and yuletide snacks (hot chocolate, cider, and cookies). The first night we were here, it was about 75 degrees outside, but, of course, we waited until the second night, when it was 32 degrees to venture out! Oh, well!

"Pretend Christmas morning"

Since we are going to be in TX for Christmas morning, but we had such GREAT stockings (the result of a long, long, long search), we decided to do "pretend-Christmas morning" on the last day we were in NC. Here are some pics of Isaac exploring his stocking...

Christmas train set

Isaac got a train set from Aunt Allyson and Uncle Jeff. After Dad and Uncle Jeff assembled it, he laid on the floor saying, "Choo, choo" while pushing the train and (accidentally) kicking apart the carefully constructed tracks! We'll have to work on that part...

A field trip to the Greensboro Children's Museum

Isaac, Mom and Dad played hooky today and went to the Greensboro Children's Museum together. It was SO cool - and we didn't even go into all the rooms (Isaac got a little worn out). We'll have to go back again sometime soon!
