Isaac's song

On Thursday night, we went to a baseball game and Isaac's friend Ty gave him a baseball. He was playing with it in the car, and Daddy told him, "Don't throw the ball, Isaac." Isaac promptly threw the ball, and so lost it. We told him, "Daddy told you don't throw the ball," and so Isaac made up this song:

He sang this song for maybe 5 minutes (we think he's saying, "Daddy told me don't throw balls. Daddy told me don't throw rocks." over and over again...)

So did he throw the ball out the window? No anger or rebellion, just a song. He made up a song all by himself. That is amazing!!! I think you have a REALLY SPECIAL kid there!!
See you next week! Can't wait!
(looking back on this, I see there are lots of exclamation marks, but I can't see one to delete).
Love, Grammie

That's very cute! It looks like he's learning to express his disappointment well.

No, he didn't throw it out the window - he "lost it" as in, Mom and Dad wouldn't give it back! Also, we don't video the tantrums, but he definitely has those, too!! It's not always sunshine and songs at our house - HA!

I like your method of teaching..he seems to understand the point. Maybe Isaac should write more songs, I would like to use them as learning tools for my kids. Free of charge of course.

My sweet little Isaac throws tantrums, NO... :)
So his song has become quite the hit around our house. Trevor sings it almost every day!

So cute! I think the 'don't throw' lesson will come in handy with the new baby soon. Maybe he can add on to the song - don't throw up, or don't throw at the baby's head?? Just a thought?!
