A little preview...

So, here is what we have to look forward to - Lucy, Isaac, and his veggies. This will probably not be the last carrot Isaac feeds to the dog.

(By the way, when he says, "Pees, pees, pees" and puts his hands up by his armpits, he means, "Please." It's his version of the sign for please, which actually should be one hand over his chest.)

Photo ops...

Aunt Julia, Uncle Trevor, Tirzah and Micah gave Isaac a basketball hoop for Christmas. He LOVES it (and dad is very proud!)

One afternoon, it suddenly got very quiet in the living room. Upon investigation, this is what I found. (Who needs a playground when you have Lucy's crate?)

"Helping" mom unload the dishwasher

MamMaw and PapPaw Parish sent Isaac this book - it lights up and plays "Silent Night". He plays with it for hours on end!

Eating a turkey burger at Ruby Tuesday's. Doesn't he look so old!?

He's good at finding "nooks and crannies" to slip into. (This is a desk at the house in Maryland.)

Cousins at Thanksgiving

We went to see Isaac's cousins (Tirzah and Micah) in Maryland for Thanksgiving this year. Oh yeah, and Aunt Julia, Uncle Trevor, Grandma and Grandpa were there, too! It was a blast - Isaac and Tirzah were SO funny together. We are all in for some trouble when they are old enough to really get mischievous!

Thick as thieves...

One of several "giggle-fests"!

A favorite game - looking out the window with any adult who happened to be nearby! (This is Grandma)

This cart was in front of the house where we ate Thanksgiving dinner - they played in it for a solid half hour!

Isaac - photos by Callie Anne Photography

When Isaac and Mom went to TX with for MamMaw Parish's birthday, we also went down to Baylor University in Waco, where our amazing friend Callie Carruth-Harper took pictures of Isaac. The first one is of Isaac and Callie's son Hutson.

By the way, Callie is an amazing photographer - very patient and great at catching the spirit of Isaac (each of these pics capture Isaac's personality quirks and facial expressions!). If you are ever in the Austin, TX, area and need a photographer, you should check her out at www.callieannephotography.blogspot.com!

A little insight into our world right now...

Isaac has been developing his little personality at warp speed lately - he is very curious, and more than a little silly. We will often walk in on him bopping along to the music in his head, or talking to any number of stuffed animals in his room. Here are a few pics from his more recent personality development!

Thanksgiving 2007

This is not about Isaac (he and I were taking a nap at the time) - but I found it on our computer this afternoon and thought it was funny! Last year at MamMaw and PapPaw Parish's house on Thanksgiving, it started snowing, and the "big kids" got to play in the snowflakes! (The big kids are cousin Joey, Garin, Aunt Stephanie, and Aunt Jessica - Grammie is filming.)

Boy and dog - a photo series...

Last January, we took some pics of Isaac and Lucy (our dog), where they seemed to be making the same faces and expressions. Here he is again, this time with Grammie's dog, Annabelle.

...now everybody look down...

...now cuddle up!!

A trip to Grammie's, Oct 30-Nov 5

Reading an "In Style" magazine on the plane (apparently, little black dresses are back)

Lots of new things to play with at Grammie's house!

There is a pumpkin patch across the street from Grammie's house, so we went Friday afternoon. Isaac explored the pumpkin vines, and Mom got bitten by ants. Ick.

In his Halloween costume, which he wore for all of 15 minutes - in TX, Halloween is not the day to wear head-to-toe fleece!

With (Mom's good friend) Callie's son Hutson on Baylor campus

Maybe someday they'll hang this picture on their Baylor dorm room wall!

We got together with some of Mom's high school basketball teammates - this is Amber's son Zane. (They took turns getting in and out of the highchair.)

The boy loves his Grammie!

Fort Worth Zoo - Tuesday, Nov 4

Since Mom and Grammie had voted early (and it only took 20 minutes for Aunt Jess to vote) we took election day off and went to the zoo. It was great fun!

Isaac had the best seat in the house!

Grammie and Isaac watching the rhinos.

In the Bird Aviary, Isaac fed one of the parrots with a birdseed stick (there's a video in the next post)

In case you can't read it, this says "Hill Country" (so, basically this is a pic of Mom being cheesy)

Isaac loved the penguins - this one was trying to eat his fingers, though Isaac seems blissfully unaware.

A couple of videos from the Grammie trip

Here are a few videos from our recent trip to visit our TX family.

Isaac loved playing with Annabelle, Grammie's huge lab-mix dog. This is a video of the three of them playing soccer (with a partially-deflated basketball).

On Tuesday, Mom, Jess, Grammie and Isaac went to the Fort Worth Zoo. At the aviary, Isaac and Grammie fed one of the birds with a birdseed stick. It was pretty cool!

Picture tag...

Here's a new tag that is actually pretty simple to do.
Open your pictures folder
Go to the SIXTH folder
Go to the SIXTH picture
Publish it to a NEW POST and tell the story of the photo

This tag came from Isaac's friend Hutson's blog (actually, my friend and his mom, Callie, sent it!) - it was a little complicated because all our pictures are in iPhoto, so there aren't any "folders," but this was the closest thing (I just kinda made up my own system).

STORY: We bought Isaac a new Monkey towel, and this picture was taken after bathtime the first time we used the towel. Dad had given Isaac the bath, and then brought him downstairs to show Mom the "cuteness" (those were Dad's exact words). He actually didn't like the towel much - this pic was taken in between protestations!

I tag: Julia and Trevor, Angela and John, Natalie and Chris, and Stacie! Post your pictures, too!

"Carson-Newman, How I Love Thee..."

This weekend was Carson-Newman's Homecoming, so we trekked up to Virginia for a night, and then on to Jefferson City, TN, for the festivities and football game.

The new football stadium is very nice, and we sat with the Barkers (thanks, Stacie, for taking most of these pictures!)

Every time Carson-Newman did something good, Isaac stood up on Dad's lap and started bouncing and looking toward the endzone - we finally figured out that he was looking at the cheerleaders! Dad was so proud...

It started to get really cold, and Carson-Newman was up 42-7 at half-time, so we decided take one last picture and head back home. It was short trip, but worth it.

The latest installment in our "Isaac on college campuses" series (in front of the columns on C-N campus).
