Isaac and Cam - a video

Isaac's friend Cam (son of our friends, Chris and Natalie) came over to play today. This was snacktime - or, rather, the end of snack time. They decided to throw their remaining crackers on the ground, which was apparently hilarious. It was so funny watching them crack each other up! (Sorry it's so shakey at the beginning - I couldn't decide who to watch first!)

"Potty training"

All Isaac's friends have these cute pics of them sitting on their potties. In contrast, this is what Isaac does with his potty. Never used, he carries it around and throws small balls into it. *Sigh* It may be awhile before we tackle that milestone!

Bubbles

Isaac has officially entered the "I can do it myself" stage of toddler-hood. His parents are so proud. Here, he's "blowing bubbles" all by himself. Sort of. (Note: No bubbles were harmed, or even created for that matter, in the making of these photos.)

Snow again!

It's hard to believe that less than a week ago we were covered in snow! It is 78 degrees an sunny today, but Monday it snowed 3-4 inches. Here are some pictures from the fun...

He really needed some gloves - his poor hands were bright red and cold, and Lucy kept getting up in his face. He enjoyed it more later, when we got him some gloves!

Notice his hands now - he's wearing some (adult-sized) leather gloves that we found in the coat closet - they hung off him, but at lease he wasn't crying anymore!

This is a video of the "snowball fight" across our back fence with our neighbors. Garin and Jeff stood about 25 feet apart and lobbed snowballs at each other (so much for building forts, hiding out, dodging attacks - they were allowed to move if the snowball was going to hit their faces, but otherwise...)

We got all bundled up and went outside to play on his swingset, but it was just too cold. So we went inside, and it started snowing a few minutes later! Cold!

The boy loves his salsa - takes after his daddy! (Actually, he had a lot of it in utero, so it's in his blood...)

Isaac just LOVES the Backyardigans. He calls them "Tuuu Backgackgackgack" and tries to sing their theme song. It makes us laugh.
(Oh, and he's sitting in his new "Anywhere Chair", which was a Valentine's Day present from Mom and Dad, Grammie, and Grandma and Grandpa - so thanks to all!)

For our friend Ty's birthday, we went to Monterrey Mexican restaurant, where they brought this huge sombrero on Ty's head and sang "Happy Birthday." Isaac was mesmerized by this hat (and the song, too), so Ty and Sara Beth (his sister) put it on his head! He loved it!!

We went to visit Cam and his parents in Mt. Airy. What a fun day!

You know what they say about the box being more fun and exciting than the actual toy? Isaac played with this box all day...

Hands-on Museum in Johnson City, TN

After "Christmas morning", we went to the Hands-On Museum in Johnson City. Isaac had a great time with Grandma, Grandpa, Mom and Dad.

The very first exhibit was a very tall treehouse - Isaac climbed right up!

This one was his favorite - first, you take a golf ball and throw it in the huge funnel...

...Then the golf ball would circle around and around until it fell out of sight. We came back to this one several times!

This was the dinosaur exhibit. Isaac was very brave until the life-sized T-Rex started roaring at him...

...fortunately, Grandpa came to the rescue!

"Digging" for "fossils"

There were lots of buttons on this display - they made the robot-dinosaur move around and roar...Isaac liked this part!

This is probably what Beethoven looked like as a toddler...

Whew. Lots of fun, but we're exhausted!
